2. Programme structure

Workshops on methods of psychoanalytic research and/or concepts of teaching psychoanalysis will take place on Friday, 6 September 2024, between 14:00 and 18:00. Some workshops will be offered in English and some in German. The workshops will take place at the Department of Education of the University of Vienna.

Following the workshops, all conference participants are invited to a welcome reception on Friday, 6 September 2024, which will take place at 18:30 under the arcades of the main building of the University of Vienna.

On Saturday, 7 September 2024, between 9:00 and 18:30, various topics related to the conference theme will be covered in presentations and discussions. See "3. Guidelines for submitting a paper" for some of the topics on which presentations are requested. On that day, the event will take place in a university building very close to the Department of Education.

On Sunday, 8 September 2024, between 9.00 and 13.30, the implications and consequences of the German and the new Austrian Psychotherapy Law for the psychoanalytic training of psychotherapists will be highlighted and discussed. The main focus will be on the question of how to deal with the various challenges, difficulties and options of the new Austrian Psychotherapy Act with regard to the training of psychoanalysts. The discussion of this question will be related to experiences that have been made (or are being made) in Germany - or in other countries - with legal requirements and regulations.
