This paper focuses on the historical genesis of inclusive research practice from action, emancipatory, and action research. Recent developments, possibilities, and challenges in the context of research practice with a focus on power-related theoretical approaches will be elaborated and discussed critically using two examples: one focuses on the widely acknowledged main target group of inclusive research, people with learning disabilities, whereas the latter puts a different one at center stage: Teachers with forced migration backgrounds. Reported risks and barriers point towards the identification and choice of co-researchers, resulting conflicts in power-relations and challenges in inclusive dissemination.
