The Section, Teaching and Learning in Schools, consists of three Research Units: Research on Schooling, Teacher Education and Professionalization Research and Religious Education - Islam.
Common to all three Research Units is the education and professional training of secondary school teachers, including Islamic religion teachers, and on-the-job teacher training. This includes the Islamic religion teachers and the concrete practical on-the-job training for teachers.
The Research Units maintain strong links with all other academic areas of the University of Vienna dealing with teaching methods, school subject and teacher education.
Beyond the common area of teacher training, the Research Units pursue their own specific fields of interest.
