The Educational Research and Theory Unit focuses on the relationship between these two basic areas of the science of education. Besides more analytical enquiry within this border area, the Unit also carries out diverse empirical research projects, e.g. on religious competence as subject-specific competence or the analysis of school class records (videos). The aim is to deal with and thereby enhance empirical research questions by engaging with them against a background of systematic philosophical enquiry.
